About the conference

From the laboratory to the farm and the market

The 1st International Conference on Veterinary Sciences brings veterinarians, scientists, industry, policy makers and farmers into one room at the School of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Centurion University, in southern Odisha.

Three days of research tracks, an Industry–Academia Conclave, an Industry Challenge, an expo and a field meet are built around one question: how does veterinary science reach the people who depend on animals for their livelihood.

Aim & objectives

Taking veterinary science from the laboratory to the field

Background

Animal health now sits at the centre of several global challenges: antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic and emerging diseases, food safety, climate stress on production systems, and the livelihoods of the many families who depend on livestock.

India has one of the world’s largest livestock populations and is the largest producer of milk, yet findings from veterinary laboratories often take years to reach a farmer’s shed or a company’s product line.

ICVSi2i 2027 is hosted by the School of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Centurion University, in Paralakhemundi, Odisha, where livestock and tribal livelihoods are closely linked. The programme is built to shorten that distance. Researchers, clinicians, industry, policy makers and field veterinarians work through the same agenda, from the opening keynote to the farmers’ meet on the final day.

Objectives

Advance the science

  1. Advance knowledge in clinical practice, diagnostics, vaccines, therapeutics, livestock and poultry production, and the allied life sciences through peer-reviewed presentation and critical discussion.
  2. Strengthen One Health approaches to zoonoses, food safety, antimicrobial resistance and biosecurity at the animal, human and environmental interface.
  3. Evaluate smart technologies such as AI, IoT, telemedicine, drones and GIS for animal health, production and clinical decision-making.

Move innovation to industry

  1. Create routes to market for new products and technologies through the Industry–Academia Conclave, the Industry Challenge and the expo.
  2. Support young scientists and start-ups with expert-jury evaluation, national and international visibility, and the Young Scientist Award.
  3. Build lasting partnerships among universities, institutes, funding agencies and industry for joint research, MoUs, funding and training.

Deliver impact for people

  1. Turn research into farmer income through product processing, extension education, sound policy and market access.
  2. Strengthen tribal and rural livelihoods with climate-resilient, low-cost and locally suited livestock solutions, shaped with field veterinarians and farmers.

Outcomes

  • Book of Abstracts with ISBN
  • Selected full papers in Scopus and WoS-indexed journals
  • Awards for research, field service and industry
  • Partnership and funding conversations between industry, agencies and institutions
